Érica Takeda Named Regional Commercial Manager Latin America For ANGUS And Dow Biocides

Sao Paulo, Brazil - August 08, 2006

Érica Takeda has been named regional commercial manager for Latin America, for ANGUS Chemical Company (ANGUS), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dow Chemical Company, and Dow Biocides, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company. In her position, she is responsible for coordinating all business efforts in Latin America and providing administrative and business leadership for all employees in the customer application center in this region.

“Érica will play a critical role in Latin America, providing customers with local understanding, as she will oversee all administrative and leadership for employees at the customer application center in Latin America,” said Mark Henning, ANGUS CEO and general manager for Dow Biocides. “Globally, we have eight strategically placed regional centers, which include state-of-the art application labs for ANGUS and Dow Biocides, customer application specialists and technologists, to help solve our customers’ challenges. Érica will ensure that local customers will benefit from our global industry expertise and global processes and technologies in each of our key market areas.”

Érica joined Dow in Brazil working for technical service and development (TS&D) in 1989. Since then, she has held a variety of positions in TS&D and technical sales within Dow’s performance chemicals group. In 2000 she became market researcher for chemicals and performance chemicals and marketing development manager for DAXAD™, GLYCINE™ and quaternaries. In 2002, Érica was named marketing manager for Dow’s chelants and biocides businesses, and additionally as marketing manager for ANGUS, Dow quaternaries, performance fluids and polyglycols. In 2005, she was appointed product manager for polyglycols and surfactants in Guaruja, Brazil, and industry manager for natural resources Latin America. Most recently, Érica was supply chain improvement leader for basic and performance chemicals in Latin America, and was a Six Sigma champion for the commercial function in Brazil.

Érica received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering and business administration from Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil. She also holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the Business School Sao Paulo-University of Toronto.
