Global Price Increase for all Dow Biocides Products

Buffalo Grove, IL - December 20, 2005

Effective January 1, 2006, Dow Biocides, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow"), is announcing a 10 percent (10%) price increase on both list and off list prices for its entire biocides product portfolio around the world. The increase includes all key active substances such as Glutaraldehyde, DBNPA, DIMTS, BIT, Bronopol, CTAC, DXN, OPP, OBCP and SOPP. Key product brands included in this increase include (not inclusive):

AMICAL™ antifungal agents
AQUCAR™ water treatment microbiocides
BIOBAN™ antimicrobials
CANGUARD™ preservatives
DOWICIDE™ antimicrobials
DOWICIL™ antimicrobials
GLUTEX™ sanitizers
PIROR™ microbial slimicides
UCARCIDE™ antimicrobial preservatives
UCARSAN™ sanitizers
