Dow Benelux developed the Valuepark, which borders the Dow site in Terneuzen, in cooperation with the Port Authority, Zeeland Seaports. It covers 346 acres and aims to attract companies that have a distinct added value for the chemical industry such as buyers and suppliers and companies dealing with storage, packaging or distribution of Dow products.
The favorable location of the Valuepark is appealing to companies as the park connects directly to the railway, the road system and international waterways. In addition the park is connected to Dow by means of a network of pipelines.
The concentration of activities enables a mutual use of raw materials and utilities which is to the advantage of all parties. Meanwhile various storage and transshipment companies are established in the park such as Vos Logistics and Katoen Natie. Furthermore, Oil Tanking is situated in Valuepark and Bertschi operates a rail terminal here.
Maintenance Valuepark
In 2012 the Maintenance Valuepark (in short MVP) will be built next to the Westerschelde tunnel in Terneuzen. In this park companies, builders, knowledge institutions and general and technical service providers will enter into an intensive cooperation that will make this the hotspot for high quality maintenance. Dow participates in this innovative project and will move her central maintenance service to the MVP.
Excellent and Innovative Maintenance
Within our economy plants and production installations often last a few decades. Their maintenance will be more expensive compared to plants that were built in new upcoming economies. To remain competitive, compared to those new industrial countries, the factor maintenance will be crucial. Plainly put, the challenge will be to conduct the best maintenance at the lowest possible cost. Only then will production companies be able to continue to operate their plants and installations in a reliable, safe and competitive way. In the coming decades only top class maintenance will make the difference.
