Louisiana Blendstock
Louisiana Blendstock is a mixture of (mainly unsaturated) C9 to C12 components. It originates from the high temperature cracking of petroleum fractions and is separated out of pyrolysis gasoline (pygas) by distillation during the production of benzene.
Applications
The main application of this product is to be blended into gasoline and sold as motor fuel.
Alternatively, Louisiana Blendstock is used to produce hydrocarbon-based resins such as C9 aromatic-based resins or C5/C9-based resins. These resins typically are used in applications where the color of the resin is not a determining factor such as printing inks, road markings or paints.
