Dow Aromatics Co-Products are produced from pyrolysis gasoline (pygas) during the production of benzene.

Pygas is a co-product in the production of ethylene from the high temperature steam cracking of hydrocarbon feedstocks. The schematic below illustrates how the main product flows are related.

Dow Aromatics Co-Products are produced in the benzene plants at the Terneuzen production site (Netherlands, Europe – content in Dutch) and at the Plaquemine production site (Louisiana, U.S.). The schematic below shows how benzene is produced from pygas and how the co-products are formed.
