The basic nitroparaffins are characterized by a nitro group (NO2) attached to a one, two or three-member carbon chain. Some of the nitroparaffin functions include agricultural and pharmaceutical intermediates, specialty solvents for coatings or industrial processes and fuel and fuel additives.
