Cleve Madlock is the New Business Development Leader for ANGUS Chemical Company, managing new business growth projects to commercialization, analyzing business proposals for growth potential and using various techniques and processes to uncover new business opportunities.

Cleve joined ANGUS in March 1992 as director of new products. He was named vice president, North American sales for ANGUS in 1996 with responsibility for all sales, customer service, and distributor activities pertaining to the sales of nitroparaffin derivatives, biocides, and buffers & biochemicals for the company. In 1996, he took responsibility for business and site management responsibilities for ANGUS Buffers & Biochemicals in Niagara Falls, New York. Cleve was named to his current role following the acquisition of ANGUS by the Dow Chemical Company in 1999.

Prior to joining Dow, Cleve spent 22 years with Akzo Chemicals Corporation in a variety of roles ranging from research chemist through section and department heads for plastics additives before taking leadership roles as business development manager and director of total quality management for North and South America. Between 1972 – 1975, Cleve served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant, where he was Director of several Naval ‘A’ Schools.

Cleve holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas, and a masters in business administration in marketing from the Keller Graduate School of Management, Chicago, Illinois, USA.
