Kim Ann Mink Elected President and CEO of ANGUS
Buffalo Grove, IL - September 22, 2009 Kim Ann Mink, Ph.D., has been elected president and CEO of ANGUS Chemical Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company; president of CanStates Holdings Inc., the immediate parent of ANGUS, and a member of the ANGUS Chemie GmbH Advisory Board, effective August 1, 2009. Mink also serves as global general manager of Performance Materials, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company. “Kim Ann’s leadership experience and strategic industry knowledge will help to drive business innovation and new technologies to deliver further opportunities to serve our customers and enable success for all our stakeholders,” said Peter Davies, business group vice president, Specialty Materials, Dow Advanced Materials Division. “For more than 70 years ANGUS has been capitalizing on unique and proprietary chemistry to create solutions that accommodate evolving customer needs,” said Mink. “With customer application centers and experts located around the world, ANGUS offers customers a unique resource and competitive advantage in the marketplace. I am honored to be leading this global organization and look forward to the opportunity to work with customers.” Dr. Mink joined Dow in April 2009 following 20 years with Rohm and Haas Company. Most recently, she was the general manager for Rohm and Haas’s worldwide Ion Exchange Resins business, and a Rohm and Haas corporate vice president. Kim Ann began her career at Rohm and Haas in 1988 as a group leader in the Analytical Research Department. In 1991, she became the corporate regulatory affairs manager in the Product Integrity Department with responsibility of managing programs to obtain and maintain U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approvals for the use of Rohm and Haas products in FDA areas. Since 1995, Dr. Mink has held several commercial roles of increasing responsibility for various businesses, regionally and globally, including, North American region account manager, Petroleum Chemicals; Americas marketing manager and North American region commercial manager, Consumer and Industrial Specialties; global general manager for the Water Business in Process Chemicals; and Americas general manager for Process Chemicals. Dr. Mink received her B.A. in chemistry from Hamilton College and a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Duke University. In addition, she is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business Management Program. She lives with her family in a suburb of Philadelphia.
