ANGUS Celebrates New Market Development Facility at Sterlington Site
Sterlington, LA - January 13, 2009 Today the executive leadership team and employees from ANGUS Chemical Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, celebrated with community members, local officials and state legislators milestones that the Company reached in 2008, including the completion of the new $10MM Market Development Facility. The new facility is part of the Company’s Sterlington, Louisiana, manufacturing site and will help ANGUS validate the new-to-the world molecules the company is developing with its unique nitration process. “This facility embodies the ANGUS core values of growth, innovation and passion,” said Mark Henning, president and CEO of ANGUS. “As a leader of specialty chemical additives, ANGUS has proven its ability to deliver performance-enhancing amines that boost the value of end products for our customers. This new facility allows for process optimization of our existing nitroparrafins, as well as the flexibility and creativity to create new products from various feedstocks.”

With this technology, we will be able to make products that are even better, cleaner and safer than what exists today in the marketplace,” said Alan Whetten, research and development director for ANGUS. “This facility will allow us to efficiently test the market validity of new technologies so we can continue providing customers with next-generation products that will help them differentiate and grow.” The completion of the facility is a significant milestone for ANGUS and the Sterlington site. As part of the Sterlington community for more than 50 years, it reiterates the importance the location has in relation to the business. “The Sterlington site is the flagship of ANGUS manufacturing.
