ANGUS Introduces CORRGUARD™ SI Corrosion Inhibitor: Multifunctional Stain Inhibiting Additive For Metal Working Fluids
Buffalo Grove, IL - May 07, 2006
Following research driven by customer needs, CORRGUARD SI addresses some of the problems associated with the manufacturing of parts from aluminum alloys whose tendency is to stain in contact with water-based metalworking fluids. A unique building block, CORRGUARD SI is free of silicates and phosphorus, and is suitable for long-life bioresistant formulations. Effective at concentrations as low as 0.1% (working dilution), the product has a favorable safety/environmental profile and is easily waste treated. While CORRGUARD SI was designed primarily as an aluminum and galvanized steel staining inhibitor, it also provides emulsification and lubricity properties. “Staining is highly undesirable for manufacturers as it affects the appearance of finished products,” said Nanette Hermsen, global marketing manager for ANGUS. “CORRGUARD SI directly addresses this issue and solves customers’ challenges by eliminating stains, while providing additional performance enhancing attributes that help optimize fluid cost and performance.” CORRGUARD SI will initially be launched in North America and will be followed throughout 2006 in Canada, Western Europe Japan and Korea as registrations allow.
