John Buckley is the President and CEO of ANGUS Chemical Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company. In addition, he holds the position of Global General Manager of Performance Additives, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company.

John has worked for the company for 25 years, joining Dow through the acquisition of Rohm and Haas in 2009. Most recently, he served as president of AgroFresh Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dow.

John began his career at Rohm and Haas in 1983 as a process and design engineer. He was subsequently promoted to operations and commercial roles in other divisions, including managing operations in Latin America and leading sales and marketing positions in both Brazil and in Philadelphia, at the company headquarters. After a short period as global business manager for Graver Technologies, an international business based in Newark, Delaware, John rejoined Rohm and Haas in1998 to assume positions in business management and global marketing.

John earned a bachelor of science in chemical engineering with honors from Villanova University.

Liam Doherty is the global strategic marketing manager for the Personal Care and Cosmetics and Life Sciences markets for Performance Additives, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, and ANGUS Chemical Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company. In this role, Liam is responsible for the long-term strategic development and direction of functional solutions and applications in the markets.

Liam joined Dow in 1991 as a process engineer for superabsorbent polymers in Rheinmuenster, Germany, responsible for building and running the superabsorbent pilot plant combined with a focus on scale-up of new products and plant support. In 1995, Liam moved into technical service and development (TS&D) for the same business with responsibility for customers in Germany, Spain and Israel. Liam moved to Horgen, Switzerland in 1998 as a technical sales representative in oxygenated solvents, leading a program of technical conversion from competitive solvents to Dowanol P-series glycol ethers in northern Europe. In 2000, Liam was named European & Middle East Africa marketing manager for ANGUS, a role which expanded to include India in 2002 before being named to his global marketing manager for ANGUS and Dow Biocides in July 2004. In November 2004, Liam was also named managing director ANGUS Chemie GmbH, a legal supervisory role responsible for ANGUS operations in Germany.

Liam holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bradford, England.

Erin Doherty is the Global Commercial Director for ANGUS Chemical, a business in Dow Performance Additives. Prior to this role, Erin was Vice-President Business Development and Strategy for AgroFresh, Inc. where she oversaw strategic planning activities to expand the business’s portfolio for the produce, floral and agronomic crop industries. Doherty’s previous roles included being President of Floralife Inc and Corporate strategic planning manager for Rohm and Haas, where she formulated and implemented strategies for several key business units.

Prior to joining the Rohm and Haas corporate development organization, Doherty spent 14 years working in the U.S and Germany for Rohm and Haas Automotive Coatings where she held management positions of increasing responsibility, including roles as global strategic planning manager, business manager of the European automotive segment, and international marketing manager.

Erin earned an MBA degree from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree in science as a chemistry/biochemistry major. She has been active in the Rohm and Haas Women’s Leadership Network where she was the Global Chairperson in 2007 and 2008.

Justin Conklin is the global strategic marketing manager for the Paint and Coatings, and Metalworking Fluids markets for Performance Additives, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, and ANGUS Chemical Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company. In this role he sets the overall strategy for the market area with particular attention to the long-term direction, revenue and profit growth. Additionally, he assists in developing a robust technology pipeline, acting as project lead for Research and Development programs, and planning for successful product launches.

Justin joined Dow in 2009 following the company’s acquisition of Rohm and Haas. He joined Rohm and Haas in 1999 as a process engineer in the emulsion polymers plant in Louisville, KY. From 2000 to 2005, Justin held various positions in engineering and manufacturing, including a pilot plant manager role in Adhesives and Sealants leading a project to improve the scale up process for new products. In 2006 he moved to a biocides facility in Chicago, IL and served as the production manager, leading several projects that increased asset utilization rates and improved organizational alignment. In 2009, he became the ANGUS North American Product Marketing Manager, having responsibility for all regional marketing plans and successful execution of new product launches.

Justin earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dayton in 2001, along with a master’s of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2008.



Bahar Azimipour
Global strategic marketing manager

Bahar is currently the Global Strategic Marketing Manager for Dow Performance Additives. She joined the marketing team in 2009. In her role as a PSL and marketing manager, she works with R&D and manufacturing to grow the business through innovation and new product development, as well as supporting the growth of existing market segments within Dow Performance Additives.

Bahar joined Rohm and Haas in 2005 in Springhouse as a Scientist. She was part of the plastic additives team as an application development scientist and later as group leader in that team. In this role, she developed and launched the Paraloid BPM impact modifiers for PLA as well as the development of a breakthrough heat stabilizer technology for PVC.

Prior to joining Rohm and Haas, Bahar was a global technical service manager for Arkema’s plastic additives business, supporting customers in the PVC additives for packaging and building and construction. She has held roles in application development and process engineering with Advanced Elastomer Systems in Belgium and GE Plastics in France from 1998 to 2001.

Bahar has a PhD in Polymer Science from Louis Pasteur University in France and graduated with a degree in Polymer Engineering from Polytechnic University in Iran. She is currently completing her MBA at Villanova University.
