Dow Declares Force Majeure for Ethyleneamine Highers Midland, MI - September 25, 2008 The Dow Chemical Company announced to its customers on September 23, 2008 that it has declared force majeure for its Ethyleneamine Highers sourced from the US Gulf Coast due to the impact of "Hurricane Ike." Impacted products include Heavy Polyamine X (HPA-X), Tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA), and Triethylenetetramine (TETA). Widespread disruptions in raw material availability, power and utilities, as well as rail, road, and marine transportation on the U.S. Gulf Coast have impacted Dow's ability to return the plants to normal operations and shipments. At this time, Dow is unable to determine the full impact or duration of this force majeure event.
