Dow Ends Force Majeure for Ethyleneamines

Midland, MI - August 20, 2008

The Dow Chemical Company announced to its North American and Latin American customers effective August 15, 2008 that it will end force majeure in those regions for Ethyleneamines with the exception of Aminoethylpiperazine (AEP). The company declared force majeure on May 27, 2008, due to unexpected contingencies beyond Dow’s control at St. Charles Operations (SCO) located in Taft, Louisiana, which is owned by Union Carbide Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dow.
