Dow Acrylates Announces Global Price Increase Midland, MI - March 13, 2009 The Dow Chemical Company announced recently that it will increase the off schedule price for glacial acrylic acid, butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, methyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, also known as acrylic monomers or acrylates, effective April 1, 2009, or as contracts allow. This increase is in addition to the March 1st North American increase of five (5) cents per pound on the same products listed above.
Raw material prices are once again on the rise, despite the impact of the global economic downturn, said Mark Bassett, global business director, Acrylates. We must implement these increases to restore our margins and maintain continuity of supply. About Dow Acrylates Dow is one of the world's largest participants of acrylic acid and esters (acrylic monomers or acrylates), with a complete portfolio of acrylate materials that provide selection, quality and consistency for a wide range of applications.
