Dow Announces Price Increase for Acrylates in All Regions Midland, MI - March 26, 2007 The Dow Chemical Company and its affiliates (“Dow”) have announced price increases for acrylic acid and esters (“acrylates”) effective April 1, 2007, or as otherwise allowed by individual contract terms. Dow will increase prices for glacial acrylic acid, butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, methyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate:
Dow is one of the largest global producers of acrylate esters. Acrylic acid is used to produce acrylic esters and superabsorbent polymers. Major end uses for acrylic esters include acrylic latex emulsions that are used in paper, paints and coatings, textiles, and adhesives.
