1957: Dr. Charles R. Cramer starts to build a chemical production site in a Central European location in Buchs, Switzerland; for many years, the new company only offers tin-based products
1960s: Start of tin-based Biocides, and later, the addition of biocidal formulations and active ingredients
1995: First ISO certification—ISO: 9001
2000: Acima joins Rohm and Haas Company
2001: Opening of state-of-the-art High Rack Warehouse—in compliance with Chemical Hazardous Regulations and Earthquake Safety Standards; the new feature significantly improves the handling and cleanliness of packaged products while improving the speed and accuracy of customer order processing
2002: Implementation of SAP R3
2004: Implementation of MRP II Class A
2006: Starting member of the Voluntary Swiss State CO2 Reduction Plan
2008: Acima Specialty Chemicals (ASC) Business Development Group formed to create new products that will best address the future needs of our customers.
2009: Acima joins the The Dow Chemical Company
2010: Commercialization of Metatin 1230 Catalyst, to replace Dibutyl and Dioctyl Tin Catalysts; REACH Registration of Metatin™ Catalyst S-26 Stannous Octoate and several Dibutyl Tin Catalysts; start of GHS compliant Labeling
2011: The Acima Buchs site wins several important Dow Safety Awards for excellence in employee safety
