Markus Wildi President of Dow Europe GmbH

Markus Wildi is President of Dow Europe GmbH and President and Chairman of the Board of Dow Deutschland Inc. In addition to overseeing activities in Germany, the company's second largest market worldwide, he is responsible for bolstering Dow's presence and influence across the European region, with a particular focus on supporting Dow's growth strategy for the emerging geographies in Eastern Europe. He is also a member of the Management Committee and the Geography team.

Prior to being appointed to this role in February 2006, Markus Wildi was Commercial Vice President, Base Plastics, Europe, Middle East and Africa, a position he held since February 2004.

Markus Wildi started his career as General Manager for Ravago America Corp. in 1983. In 1987, he assumed a role as Sales Specialist for General Motors Suisse SA. The same year, he joined Dow in Munich, Germany, as a senior Salesman in the Polyethylene business. During his career at Dow, Wildi has held numerous positions in sales and commercial management around the world. In 1990, he was named as an Account Manager in Europe. In May of that year, he was appointed Sales Manager for Styrofoam* in Germany, based in Frankfurt. In January 1993, he became Regional Commercial Manager for Fabricated Products in France, Spain and Italy, and relocated to Paris. In October 1995, he assumed the position of Product Marketing Manager for Solution Polyethylene, Dow Europe, and relocated to Horgen, Switzerland. He relocated to Singapore in 1998 to assume the position of Sales Director for ASEAN, Australia/New Zealand, India and Pakistan, and he was promoted in January 2000 to Commercial Director for the Polyolefins and Elastomers Business Group in the Pacific Area.

Markus Wildi holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Management from Albion College of Michigan, USA. He is based in Horgen, Switzerland.
