1897	May 18, 1897: The Dow Chemical Company is incorporated, based on Herbert H. Dow's plan to manufacture and sell bleach on a commercial scale.
1898	First commercial scale production of bleach begins. Dow-in-diamond mark was created to help resolve product shipping problems.
